Our ultimate goal is to investigate the molecular mechanisms of chronic diseases. We develop new computational methods to model biological processes and mine high-dimensional, multi-modal biomedical data. We are very interested in the effect of gene regulatory networks in disease. 3M from NIH to develop causal graphical models for large, multi-modal datasets.
The CVR is home to the University of Pittsburgh RBL. Researchers at the CVR have access to cutting-edge technologies. The CVR also houses several BSL2 and BSL2 research facilities.
